Illinois Hospital System To Pay Millions In Settlement For Firing Unvaccinated Workers
Liberty Counsel, a Christian ministry has announced that it has settled the nation's first classwide lawsuit for health care workers over a COVID vaccine mandate, for more than $10.3 million. The suit was filed against NorthShore University HealthSystem. It represented more than 500 current and former health care workers who were, as Liberty Council puts it, "unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate." The agreed upon settlement was filed in the federal Northern District Court of Illinois on July 29th of this year.
"As a result of the settlement, NorthShore will pay $10,337,500 to compensate these health care employees who were victims of religious discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells."
NorthShore will be required to change its "no religious accommodations" policy to make it consistent with the law. They will also now provide religious accommodations in every single position across its numerous facilities moving forward.
"No position in any NorthShore facility will be considered off limits to unvaccinated employees with approved religious exemptions. In addition, employees who were terminated because of their religious refusal of the COVID shots will be eligible for rehire if they apply within 90 days of final settlement approval by the court, and they will retain their previous seniority level."
Mandating COVID vaccines set off alarm bells among health experts, doctors, scientists and renowned epidemiologists from around the world. There have been multiple cases of exponential outbreaks throughout this pandemic in the most highly vaccinated populations, as well as multiple studies showing both the vaccinated and unvaccinated can carry the same viral load. Most importantly, the vaccines do not stop the transmission of the virus. Furthermore, vaccine injuries have also been of great concern to many people. Approximately 50 percent of vaccine injuries reported to VAERS in the last 30 years are all from COVID vaccines.
Because of these reasons, and many more, forcing someone to get vaccinated in order to keep their job or travel are why many believe mandatory measures were quite authoritarian.
Epidemiologist Tracy Beth Høeg, M.D., Ph.D and researcher Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H. have published a paper that includes anonymous testimonies from CDC officials about the lack of science taking place at the CDC when it comes to COVID-19. You can access that and read more about it here.
Several researchers from various academic institutions in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada have published a new paper in pre-print form titled, “The Unintended Consequences of COVID-19 Vaccine Policy: Why Mandates, Passports, and Segregated Lockdowns may cause more Harm than Good.”
The paper explains that there has been a limited evaluation regarding the consequences of these policies, and hypothesizes that they’ve been counterproductive and harmful in several ways. The researchers also point out the misleading messages that have been disseminated to the public during the COVID vaccination campaign by legacy media and political rhetoric. You can access that here.
These are a few of many resources you can share with family and friends who do not understand your perspective. It's great to see that NorthShore University HealthSystem will be forced to compensate those who lost their jobs. But how many people around the world suffered this same fate? How many lost their ability to put food on the table and pay their bills? How many have been allowed to return to work? And what does this mean for future mandates?
There are millions of people who have had their lives turned upside down due to COVID vaccine mandates, and experts in the field who chose to share their opinions and evidence that opposed these mandates were quickly silenced, censored and unacknowledged.
