I have been following and enjoying Collective Evolution almost since it's inception. Joe I've always appreciated the critical thinking don't take sides possibilities from your writing. This growing one-sidedness with anti-Israel posts is truly disappointing. A snippet video from a self hating Jew that comes from a place where more Jews hated Jews than anywhere in the world during WWII (Hungary) and who himself is not an expert in history or geopolitics. Really? Well in that case, perhaps you will consider expanding your viewpoint by talking to and looking at the people in the list I created below for more information. After all, one sided isn't really the whole story is it?
You have fallen for all the logical fallacies, cognitive bias and closed minded small thinking that CE used to point out and educate against.
The history of the middle east is multi-faceted and I could say so much about simply reading up, talking to real people, doing your own research, seeking differing opinions but once upon a time you knew this already.
Rather than a counter post naming historical fact and geopolitical fact after historical and geopolitical fact, not to mention all the logical fallacies, I'm going to challenge you to even try to talk to some of the following people and write something about them, show a video of them, learn from them. Interview just one person with a different view. Ask questions of a different perspective and learn something. Stop creating division. CE was so refreshing once. Educational. Inspirational. It had no competition worth mentioning. Ah, it hurts my heart to have lost such an amazing independent source of information to the mass media virus.
These names below are just a tiny few of the many that exist who are intelligent and some even scholarly about Israel and the Middle East, just off the top of my head.
I dare you. I challenge you. I implore you. Wake up and talk to real people who actually spend their lives being educators and educated. These people are at least as credible as Gabor Mate and I would say truly by far more so, but actually talk to real people with real knowledge and you be the judge. Or, don't and prove that you really are one sided and don't want to promote critical thinking and the spirit of collective evolution anymore. Below is a short list:
Simcha Jacobovici - Canadian, award winning Journalist, known as the Naked Archeologist from his TV show and specializing in Biblical Archeology.
Mosab Hassan Yousef - Son of Hamas leader - You can find him everywhere speaking up!
Konstantin Kisin - Youtube channel Triggernometry - He recently wrote a great article on the Israel-Palestine conflict and a video as well.
Douglas Murray - British Journalist
These are just from the top of my head. If I had time to give you a list of 100 people including historians, I would. Honestly, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt that you will talk to even one person and get a more even view....
There are hundreds of youtube videos of Muslims people who have been courageous enough to stand up and explain how they were taught a false history and to hate Jews. AH, I could go on but I will watch and see if you step up being that you know how to research already.
Maybe one day you'll understand the double standard you are applying to Israel. Please do your homework and talk to these and other experts. I'm open to being continually educated and to listen to opposing views. Are you?
It all boils down to the hatred of Israel, and I cannot help by saying the "olde addage" THEY STARTED IT !!! and Israel has had enough of the constant terrorist attacks from Ignorant souls who have been brain washed by satanic cults. I will always support Israels way and its right to defend itself.
I'm wondering who or what funds Hamas and Hezbollah? Who or what funded the October 7th incursion? Who or what "thought" it would lead to success for whom or what and for what purpose?
According to Dr. Michael Salla's Exopolitics Today all regressive self-serving ETs have been forced off our planet and out of our Solar System which now has a protective energy field around it, meaning nobody in and nobody out either! Think about it, no-one can leave at the moment, no-one. Which factions on Earth are panicking right now?
i know this is going to sound like i'm just trying to support my side of the debate, but i'll write it anyway -- that's exactly what they want you to believe ! Yes, there are the beneficent ET groups like the Guardian Alliance, but they very rarely interfere in Earth affairs. An exception was detailed in the book Stardust Ranch whereby an infestation of Zeta Grey ETs in a portal on the ranch by that name in New Mexico was addressed by a contingent of Sirian ETs (who are also part of the Guardian Alliance). The Sirians came with their huge saucer ships while a naturopath served as the human with the authority to do the intervention on Earth. The naturopath experienced an array of dazzling energetic effects as part of making the point to the Greys -- from which she apparently never fully recovered. But although the Zetas kept the peace to some extent after that, they were still there occupying the portal.
This shows that bad ETs are never simply removed as it would be against law of the galaxy. The high ETs respect Universal Law even if the ETs who are the villains don't. They just try to get them to see the truth about what they are doing (and unlike many humans, ETs generally do know what they are doing is wrong when they do it) and 'reeducate' them.
There was also the example given by Drunvalo Melchizedek in his 2 vol. The Ancient Secret of Life, about a highly advanced Peruvian woman who flew this two dimensional ship off the Great Pyramid (which it apparently was designed for doing) and introduced something into the atmosphere whereby the negative Greys would get sick. And later there were independent reports, i.e. by Dan Burisch, that this was indeed happening -- the Greys getting sick with something they couldn't fix. But they seem to have overcome it now -- or maybe all this geoengineering/terraforming we are experiencing (see Clifford Carnicom's research) is a way for them to make the planet exactly suited to their needs and forestall any further attempt at disabling them again.
What is happening with the 'Full Spectrum Dominance of planet Earth,' as Elana Freeland describes, cannot be anything but ET interference. Any idea of Big Pharma, Big anything (human) behind this, is obviously just a cover for us to not see the ETs, because no human could do something like that, i.e. make the twin towers turn into fine dust as they are free-falling, without ET help. This agenda that is in play also has such a long timeframe, that any individual human perpetrator could not benefit (personally at least), from it. There have been secret societies with knowledge to try to manipulate human destiny for a millennium, but things have gone on (apparently normally) but what has been happening since 2019 is unprecedented for the planet. It could only be ETs.
They may have indeed closed off the planet to other ETs coming in, at least to those who don't have the capability to go around it, but it was the Negative Alien Alliance behind this, not the good ETs or any humans.
The Earth was protected from infiltration for many millennia by the two van Allen belts around it, but various negative ETs (not only the ones that are part of the nefarious agenda now) conned Earth scientists to do the Philadelphia Experiment and later link it to the Montauk one, whereby it created a rift in time/space that they could then use to enter undetected.
But in general, if you look at the info about them having left -- from Salla and others -- it is always terse and almost identical -- that the bad ETs just left -- there are never any details as to how that happened or who was behind making them leave. Who i (and others much more spiritually advanced than myself i.e. https://iamchastityann.substack.com/ ) consider the channels of truth on ET question -- Lisa Renee and E’Asha Ashayana Arhayas -- both say we are continually being manipulated and conned by the Negative Alien Alliance, and don't know it.
i've always had an inherent sense of supporting the Palestinians, ever since the 1967 and 1973 Arab-Israeli wars when i saw my parents side with the Arabs against Israel. i would say they were anti-Semitic coming from their beliefs and experiences in their country of origin in Europe which they fled from as the Soviets invaded, with the German's help near the end of WW II.
Going to university in the 70s, i met and made friends with Jewish students, one of whom became a roommate, and i came to see that it was not the people about which the "geo-political conflict" dynamic is really about, but dictators and the CIA trying to run the world, at the people's expense. Still i could not deny my inherent feelings towards the Palestinians over the Israelis -- but only in regards to that arena over there -- the so-called "Holy Land." "What is it," i kept thinking, where i seem to support at some deep level inside myself -- the success of bombings and bloodshed done by the Palestinians during the Intifada, while i have Jewish friends here in my personal life ?
Then as the so-called "asymmetric" nature of the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis became more and more apparent to all who are not completely taken in by the MSM, plus with the sense of extreme brutality and "crimes against humanity" being committed by Israel, can i now say that my long-time feelings of support of the Palestinian cause to have been justified all along, especially too as the public opinion of my peers comes on-side ? To be honest, "No," these feelings seem to exist somewhere else, still rooted in my parent's beliefs. Or were their beliefs rooted in something else too, something even deeper ?
i would say it's essential to make a clear distinction between the powers-that-be and the people who have been caught up in these geo-political conflicts orchestrated by these "powers" since the beginning of history. Like Maté, lots of Israelis have divorced themselves from the actions of their government, just as those who marched in the anti-Vietnam War protests did, as even the American GI's did in the Gulf Wars when they witnessed their part in non-sensical actions against Iraqi citizens who actually were in support of the coalition cause, and as did too the Canadian truckers at Parliament Hill in the face of Trudeau's brutal globalist mandates.
But to me there is something very unique about Israel. In the book by Andrija Puharich, Uri: A Journal of the Mystery of Uri Geller, Puharich describes an event he was instrumental in during the 1973 Arab-Israeli conflict -- where he was in effect part of a channeling situation, enabling a race of ETs to influence the course of the war through the authority had as a human on Earth that the ETs didn't. At one point the Syrian tanks were free from Israeli opposition on the Golan Heights above Israel, and could have easily secured the strategic location for Syria, yet the tank commander inexplicably retreated. Based on Puharich's testimony it was because the ETs were able to influence the tank commander's mind through his own acting as a relay for them. It was likely that Israel losing the Golan Heights would have set a new timeline in motion, one unfavourable to Israel and the ETs who support it.
Personally i have lately been involved in a weekly online prayer circle that originally was part of Robert F Kennedy Jr's election campaign, run by a spiritual leader guiding participants in conventional prayer as well as targeted manifestation procedures. What we seem to be doing is similar to what was related in the 2018 movie, The Trump Prophesy, when evangelicals using directed Christian prayer where apparently able to bring about the unexpected Trump win in 2016. However after RFK Jr gave up his presidential bid and joined with Trump, i've become a bit concerned, even as i continue my efforts with the prayer circle to make RFK Jr's "Make America Healthy Again" campaign successful through Trump becoming President again. i trust Bobby and although i certainly don't trust whatever is behind the Democrats, i feel a Trump win will again be about support for Israel -- in a different way than it has been under Biden. i don't dismiss the idea that there could be different ET elements vying for lucrative power bases on the planet, which could swing one way or the other based on the results of the upcoming American election.
Considering all this, i don't dismiss my undefined feelings against Israel either. How far this goes with the Jewish religion can maybe best be represented by how i feel about Christianity as a religion -- in that it has been hijacked by the Roman Church, from its pure spiritual base and made into a system of control. But Israel is a country, not even a religion per se. It has been however, since pre-history, a highly valued spiritual base on the planet, some say a stargate. Even the Christian mystic, Rudolf Steiner inferred that Judaism was an expected and valued position that needed to be maintained in the coming times, for all of humanity's spiritual evolution. But Steiner never addressed the ET issue, except he did talk about the threat of the Asuras, dark spiritual beings which are alien to the solar system's nature and evolution. So maybe it no longer is any 'geo'-political dynamic, but a galactic or universal one (and maybe it always has been).
i think the best approach in the coming times -- would be to distance ourselves from all religion, the state that we hold citizenship or birth in, even our race -- and think of ourselves simply as human, since it could be that only the significance of being human will capture the true essence of the conflict we are increasingly facing. All the differences we have come to believe are between us, ones that have been encoded in social conventions and institutions, are in danger of being used to divide us. As citizens of this planet, we must hold on to the one identity which can't be used to separate us, and with which we will walk with the good ETs of the Milky Way Galaxy, as equals -- the Human Form.
Warfare is tragic and what is happening to the Palestinians is tragic. Where is the responsibility of Hamas in this story? If Hamas cares so deeply about its people why do they not surrender and end all of this? This seems to be the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. Also Hamas chooses to hide amongst civilians creating even more death.
Unfortunately we as human beings have been slaughtering civilians since the beginning of time and we haven't learned our lessons yet. In this case the civilians are casualties of war, not unlike victims of Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Hamas was funded by Isreael. There is no excuse for killing people, none whatsoever, especially unarmed people by armed people. You're right that this is a human question not nationality or religion. Humans have got to stop killing their own kind, period. For any reason. Self defense doesn't have to intend death.
You should read the book "Son of Hamas" written by the son of one of the original founders, it would really open your eyes about Hamas and what they are all about.
In the old days civilians were victims of armies, this has always been the case. But at one time armies battled it out on battlefields and Kings lead from the front. Targeting civilians specifically came about in the First and Second World Wars during the bitzs in England and Allied Bomber Command in Germany.
An excellent book they wrote, "The Myth of Normal." Very moving and thought provoking.
The conflict in the Middle East is very convoluted and complex. Anyone who wants to truly understand what Zionism is, and how it is NOT Judaism, should read an extremely detailed, in-depth book recently written by Rabbi Yaacov Shapiro. Fair warning: it is nearly 1500 pages. It is written by an Orthodox rabbi, each statement backed by Torah, documented historical newspapers, and government documents (including US, Israel, France, UK, etc...) My 'apple cart' was upset many years ago, but this book was quite eye-opening, and in many ways difficult to read, challenging as even the past 4 years have been: Lies, lies and more lies told to the public, especially to the Jewish people. And do not condemn "the Jews" for the crimes of some (Zionists). (Or "the Catholics" for the crimes of the Pope....etc.)
I feel this quite deeply... you said... 'With Embodied Sensemaking the invitation is to settle the body, notice it, pay attention to where resistance comes in, and get curious about why it’s there so we can stay at the table and make sense in good faith - with honest true curiosity. This helps us steer clear or be aware of our cognitive bias, and keep going. It helps us stay in a connected and curious mode, vs. a defensive and attacking mode.'
As a pilot I used to fly to Tel Aviv regularly. My crew and I used to take tours of the area. When I saw what had happened with the Palestinians, I could not believe they were being treated this way. When we traveled the city to take tours, there were young military people walking around with weapons and grenade launchers! I had never seen them before. I would never have brought my family to Tel Aviv or to Israel. The way the Palestinians were living was disgraceful. I am not a religious person but I can understand genocide when I see it.
You clearly don't understand genocide when you see it, you clearly don't even know the definition. Did you ever ask yourself why Israelis are carrying weapons? And did you ever ask yourself why Palestinians live in the conditions they live in? Hint, it's because they are run by terrorists who steal all the foreign aid they receive and use it to wage terror. Gaza is its own sovereign territory with TWO borders, one with Israel and one with Egypt. Egypt doesn't even give them the time of day or let anything through, and Israel has to control THEIR border because Hamas smuggles weapons and bombs.
I 'clearly don't understand genocide when I see it'? I think I do; you clearly don't agree with me, no need to attack. I believe my own eyes and I have been there often enough that it makes a clear picture of what is happening. I have been to the holocaust memorial and some concentration camps as well. Normandy Beach on the 45th anniversary. I have traveled around the world many times. I believe my eyes, not your attack.
Israel occupied Palestinian homes. They are looters of the worse extent. I've got no beef against Jews, I consider Zionists against Jews themselves and use Jews to further their ends. Zionists have the worse reputation of anyone on earth and they deserve it. Nobody comes close in the level of sadism, scheming, marauding and looting that Zionists conduct. Most people like Gabor Mate are disgusted by it.
I watch The Grayzone from time to time, with Maté's son. It's very good stuff! And thank you for sharing this here. At this point in the conflict we need to consider more of the human side instead arguing who should be allowed to do what. Thank you for shining light on that. Israel's actions remind me of the reckless and destructive actions of my government (US) in places around the world, all in the name of terrorism.
Thanks for sharing this, enjoyed hearing Maté's perspective. As someone who has watched many conversations around this issue, people seem to think it's so simple.. trying to find a lynchpin in history that proves things one way or another. But it does not exist. I like that you and Gabor point that out.
I am always surprised by some comments as they don't quite seem to get what you are getting at and instead revert back to the tropes you are trying to point out. Trying to find that singular point that proves someone is right to do something so awful to another. Anyway, thanks for sharing this, I did not know Maté's position on all of this. Seems reasonable and open.
I can’t imagine an article with less substance than this one. Claim: Genocide. Proof? Body count with no context. Rubber bullets made you sad? Why was the land Called Judea? Because that was one of the twelve tribes of the Israelites. That was the land they inhabited. The concept of a Palestinian didn’t emerge until the late 19th century. Are word Palestine comes from the Roman word “Philistine,” which referred to a people who lived there or near there after the Jews. The Romans changed the name from Judea to Palestine to hide the Jewish claim to that land after the Jewish people resisted their colonization efforts. Before Judea, it was Canaan. Also belonging to Jews. Gabor is another guy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, who blames everything on Israel. But this conflict ends when Palestinians aren’t being run by terrorists who actually want to commit genocide as stated in their charter. Release the hostages, vanquish Hamas, and Palestinians can have peace. What they will never have, is the Jewish homeland. These people could be Israeli’s allies, but instead they choose to attack Israel relentlessly. No country should tolerate that and no country ever will.
Israel is the biggest terrorist on the planet, what are you talking about. Imagine if that logic were to apply to other nations - the whole geopolitical map would change. If you're in the US for example, the land belongs to Native Americans. Actually land belongs to no one and to everyone. Israel could live cooperatively with Palestinians but that's not what they want to do. The hatred is thoroughly off-putting, just on sense of dignity of life except for their own.
The point is in my mind, we must consider the reality of brutal actions. War is not pretty no matter how you cut it, but we're acting like it's not obvious something seriously wrong is happening here. To stop an enemy given the current nature of our world is understandable, but this is not what i see happening right now, and so I offer more perspective because that is what feels right.
I appreciate your civil response, Joe. Thank you. I didn't look at that link, but I highly doubt the thousands of years of Jewish history and claim to that land is rebutted by whatever the content of that link is. I'm not saying there were no other people there. The Temple Mount is literally built on top of the Temple of King Solomon (or is it David?). The history in all the ways that matter, is crystal clear. The only thing that is really wrong is the disproportionate scrutiny placed on Israel, which I can only conclude is antisemitism at this point. Israel has the lowest Combatant:Civilian casualty rate in any equivalent conflict, and that's not good enough. Everything that is happening, is the fault of Hamas. Not Israel. Even settlement expansion, is no justification for terrorism, obviously. It's not like Hamas only attacks military targets. They deliberately attack civilians, and Israel's responses are more ammo for them in the propaganda war, which admittedly and unfortunately, they are winning. I think people's moral compasses are completely broken at this point. I also think as people living cushy lives in the West, we just don't have the stomach for these brutal realities that you yourself acknowledge. The Golda Meir quote comes to mind: "If the Palestinians put down their weapons, there would be no more war. If Israel puts down hers, there would be no Israel." It is hard to imagine anyone who actually has an understanding, even a cursory one, of the history doesn't know that is the case. There are maybe 10,000 radicals in Israel that wan't to take the land, but so what? That's such a tiny number. Israel just wants to be left alone. October 7th was their reward for treating Palestinians in their hospitals and allowing them to commute into the country and work and earn a living. It's such a shame.
Israel is disgusting. Nothing justifies what they do. Palestinians are like David against Goliath. Why didn't Israel surveillance prevent October 7th? Because they wanted it to go ahead. Liars and cheats that's what Israel is and won't be trusted by anyone who has any respect for life.
Ironic that you invoke David and Goliath. David was a Jew LOL. The hero of that story was a Jew. Just like the Jews are the heroes of this story. 15 million Jews on earth. Almost 2 billion Muslims. THAT, is the David versus Goliath story.
The vast majority of the world is in opposition to what Israel is doing. The UK is willing to hand over intelligence proving war crimes by Israel. From what I read here and what I see Dr Maté saying, this isn't about landing in an absolute right or wrong, it's about opening perspectives and seeing how humanity goes too far on many things. I don't understand the hostility within your comment. Most people agree this is a genocide by now. Not in the beginning maybe, but minds are changing because facts come forward. Israel is literally indiscriminately killing innocent people and using the excuse of "defense" to do so, I'm not sure we should be OK with that. The world sees this. Israel can defend itself, but what is happening now is not that.
And, you resort to insult in the beginning of your comment, which is precisely what the author pointed out happens when things become unfriendly, ironic.
I don't care what the world thinks. The world is gullible. The world doesn't have the stomach for war and the world doesn't care about how many Israelis die or the threat they face. The world is the victim of highly effective propaganda, and the world has seemingly forgotten that it is Hamas that hides behind civilian populations to maximize civilian death. Consensus of opinion is proof of nothing. My concern is protecting a true minority, the Jewish people. And the amount of people tricked into repeating antisemitic tropes and seemingly not understanding that Jews are a minority in need of protection, is heartbreaking. All the Palestinians have to do is be peaceful, and they never with with terrorists running their country. If you care about human life, the only answer is defeating Hamas and installing new leadership into that country. Anything else will result in a never-ending conflict.
Zionists own most of the media and you mention propaganda! But even with that level of control, the propaganda machine, people still recognize odiousness when they see it. Perhaps you are the one who is biased, who only sees one side.
Replace “Zionists” with the word “Jews” and realize that you traffic in antisemitic tropes. I hope you get help soon. What does Zionism even mean? I bet you don’t know.
You lose the bet. It means believing in Israel as a land for the Jews. You can use that label antisemite all you like, it's like calling someone a conspiracy theorist or a nut. Those that side with Zionism don't have a case when it comes to the issue so they attack the person instead.
That is getting so old now. It's just a label Israel uses to try to get out of talking logically. Slapping someone with a label does not an argument make. They pull that one a lot, turning the argument around to boomerang back at anyone who makes valid points.
Truly, I don't know what you mean by this. This is a lazy comment that says nothing about the content of the post as Palestinians and Israelis are both Semitic people.
I have been following and enjoying Collective Evolution almost since it's inception. Joe I've always appreciated the critical thinking don't take sides possibilities from your writing.
Since the creation of the Federal Reserve we had world wars and everything went awry from then on.
Gabor Mate and his sons, Aaron and Daniel are amazing people.
Thanks for posting this
An excellent book they wrote, "The Myth of Normal." Very moving and thought provoking.
You’re so far gone there is no helping you. What does Zionism mean? Can you even answer the question?
I feel the same way when it comes to all of this. Here in the US, I think people are so generally on edge that it's even tougher to stay grounded.
You’ve got it 180 degrees backwards. Read a book.
There are differing perspectives, with good citations, on the Roman history you bring up: https://everydayorientalism.wordpress.com/2024/09/23/myth-the-name-palestine-is-a-roman-invention-eopalestine-06/
So your now antisemitic?
That is getting so old now. It's just a label Israel uses to try to get out of talking logically. Slapping someone with a label does not an argument make. They pull that one a lot, turning the argument around to boomerang back at anyone who makes valid points.
Truly, I don't know what you mean by this. This is a lazy comment that says nothing about the content of the post as Palestinians and Israelis are both Semitic people.
