Ontario Doctor Continues Her Battle To Speak Freely About Harmful COVID Measures
Dr. Kulvinder Kaur Gill will appear before the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (HPARB) today to request that cautions ordered against her by the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO) over her Twitter commentary in 2020 be overturned.
Dr. Gill is a specialist physician practicing in the Greater Toronto Area, with significant post-graduate training in pediatrics, allergy and clinical immunology. She has also done extensive scientific research in microbiology, virology and vaccinology at the Public Health Agency of Canada’s highest security level-4 biosafety laboratory in Canada, the National Microbiology Laboratory. She has published extensively in these areas.
Dr. Gill has a following on Twitter of over 192,000 people. There she has shared scientific studies and expert opinions about various government COVID-19 policies since the start of the pandemic, especially on lockdowns, and mandatory mask and vaccination policies.
She is one of many academics in the field who have a large social media following that has been subjected to censorship and ridicule for their expertise. Despite sharing legitimate information and concerns, the simple fact that her words opposed the 'official' narrative set forth by Big Pharma and government is enough for the 'powers that be' to limit her speech.
On February 3, 2021, a panel of the CPSO, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC), issued three cautions on Dr. Gill’s public record. All three cautions were with regards to only two tweets posted to Dr. Gill’s Twitter feed.
Dr Gill's two tweets were - "If you have not yet figured out that we don't need a vaccine, you are not paying attention," and "There is absolutely no medical or scientific reason for this prolonged, harmful and illogical lockdown. #FactsNotFear"
These ultimately led to the CPSO to censure Dr. Gill.
Public health agencies in Canada, and in other parts of the world, are still threatening doctors who oppose the narrative. For example, California Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed Assembly Bill 2098 into law, which allows the state’s medical board to punish doctors for disseminating “misinformation” or “disinformation” regarding COVID-19.
The new proposal states that doctors should not contradict “scientific consensus” on COVID-19 or they could be charged with “unprofessional conduct,” and possibly have their medical license suspended or revoked.
There has already been considerable push back against this vague and draconian bill.
Nearly three years later since the declaration of a pandemic, it turns out most of what Dr. Gill, and ten's and thousands of other academics were sharing, was right.
That being said, it shouldn't matter if she was right or wrong. The ability to speak freely, openly and transparently and present legitimate evidence and opinion should be a right that all citizens have. Through an ever growing authoritarian army of "fact checkers", and various federal agencies spearheading censorship in the fight to take away free speech, it's quite clear that information warfare and the 'fight' over human consciousness is at an all time high.
Even the British Medical Journal was subjected to censorship and accused of spreading "false information" regarding fraud that was uncovered during Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials.
As early as May 2021, Facebook removed 16 million pieces of its content and added warnings to around 167 million. YouTube removed more than 850 000 videos related to “dangerous or misleading covid-19 medical information.”
During the pandemic, 'official' narratives were created regarding all things COVID-19 by government health authorities claiming to be "following the science." Any discussion about the science that called into question these narratives was not allowed. And of course government did not have to disclose the 'science' that backed their policy, nor consider science that opposed their policies.
In the United States, health care professionals and scientists working within government health agencies like the CDC, FDA and NIH explained that they were embarrassed by the lack of science taking place and the level of corruption that was being observed.
Tracy Beth Høeg, M.D., Ph.D., consultant epidemiologist with the Florida Department of Health, PM&R physician in Northern California and Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H., a Johns Hopkins professor and public policy researcher published an excellent paper explaining this, with testimony from CDC and FDA insiders.
The Democracy Fund (TDF) and Libertas Law lawyer Lisa Bildy are representing Dr. Kaur. According to Bildy, it was unreasonable for the CPSO to insist that doctors’ comments align with the government. The College’s duty is not to the government, but rather to the public, and those interests are not necessarily aligned. According to TDF, Dr. Gill is expected to appear before the HPARB on October 12, 2022.
