As I read your article I thought about Jesus. He was on earth at a time and place of authoritarian rule (by the Roman Empire) when a lot of people hoped for a saviour to overthrow the Romans and usher in a utopian system. Also at that time his cultural group, the jewish people, were a following a lot of detailed religious rules in order to win favour with God, they hoped. Jesus knew neither of these were the answer to the needs of the world, and he encouraged people to think differently; about God (as a loving father rather than a mean rule-maker), about each other - to treat each other as they would like to be treated, to forgive each other, to love their enemies, to seek after things that really mattered and not money, power, status. He knew that the solutions to the world's problems lay not in systems of power, but in transformation of people's hearts and minds. His followers shared their resources, preached repentance and forgiveness, tried to live as Jesus had suggested, cared for abandoned Roman babies (it was a Roman custom to dump unwanted babies at that time), helped sick people (which eventually led to the first hospitals), appreciated the intrinsic value of each human being, not just for their status, wealth, race or sex and it changed the world. The solution to the world's problems is in changing people's hearts.

Step 2 neutrality misses the benevolence at work from the spiritual realm. Looking more closely at how we humans got this far to awaken would show that force at work as well. We should align with that.

This is a clear picture of what it takes to create a thriving world…. First to dismantle the lies we hold as a truth and create from a place of truth…. We cannot heal a lie & the sooner we get on to truth telling the faster we can evolve… our bodies know the difference & if our actions are based on an underlying lie we can never get behind what we are doing with the 100% that is necessary for a truly successful endeavor

Well said! There is a feeling of resonance that becomes apparent to our conscious mind the more we are present and attuned with ourselves. Couple that with then asking the question: "is what we are doing (generally or specifically) resonant with us?" and suddenly we have the ability to know how we truly feel about our environment.

"Earth is a playground for deep learning ..." You said it all in that sentence, Joe. When it comes right down to it, all of us souls are in a cosmic school, each on their own level of understanding, and his own level of learning. I don't think there is such a thing as fundamental question(s) that we can find and address that will solve our problems, but I do agree, we have to find the appropriate solutions for our time in our history and evolution. Discovering those "timely questions" — and evolving possibilities/questions — can then help ease each individual (maybe even a society) to lessen the conflicts and resistances to change we carry in our hearts.

Too many of us hate change in our lives and will even tolerate Overlords to abuse us over and over again, rather than change. We love familiarity. Often, one has to hit rock bottem before change is possible in life.

What is it in human nature that makes us so reluctant to change? How much better life would be if we could more easily change and adapt to better solutions? On the other hand, living in a world with infinite posibilities, where can you draw the line and, with (smug) confidence, announce to the world, "I have the answer!"?

I love your essays, Joe! We need more Deep Thinkers like you to help us move along!

Thanks for the kind words Albert. That's a really good question "What is it in human nature that makes us so reluctant to change?" There are a number of interesting thoughts on this that go down to biology and even the structure of the brain. But i think regardless of the explanation provided, I never believe we are victims of our biology or programming, we can always overcome with consciousness. :)

Wasn't it Bill Cosby's who famously said, "the devil made me do it." Too often it's any lame excuse as long as we don't have to be responsible for our own actions.

This is profound on many levels. Thanks for expressing this so succinctly. I am looking forward to the rest of these parts to come out.

Trying to imagine the whole world changing is really hard, almost impossible at times. I'm wondering how this feeling will be addressed in the other parts cause it might be the one thing that holds many of us back from knowing what to do or believing. So far there's a calm that arises when I read this though.

there is just ONE problem.....

....resolve this ONE problem, and all our other problems fall like a house of cards!! Each of the myriad resolution proposals put forth these days is arguably fruitless without addressing this single root issue. History bears this out.

The problem itself is no revelation, nor an original idea. The diagnosis is readily accessible and easy to agree with. Yet, the very notion that this problem can be directly addressed, let alone resolved, lies beyond what most of us believe is possible. Herein lies our greatest challenge.

How exactly do you propose to shift the whole of humanity from egocentricity to intuitive intelligence?
