The tragedy with our current circumstances is that is difficult to develop a true understanding of being human while immersed in a culture that teaches us to be separate individuals in competition with each other. The antidote to such alienated thinking is to model one's relationships on the natural world.

There we observe interconnected networks of cooperative relationships build upon a desire for community. To truly comprehend the value of who and what one is, requires a substantial degree of internal emotional work. This effort is a challenging life-long quest that can be rewarding beyond measure. It is a sad comment on our society. The loss of faith has put most of us into darkness. I think most of us would benefit from the wisdom found in Ecclesiastes. There is indeed "A time for every purpose under heaven." Even if at present we do not understand that purpose it is there. To me it is the most powerful message in the Christian writings. People without purpose should read the old writings and try to find inner strength in their wisdom. Even though I am not a religious man I believe we can all draw strength from the Christian principles on which our society was founded. Look at your children or your grandchildren and you will indeed see the true purpose under heaven.

Never comply or submit to the self destructive ways of this world. They are evil and following these forces can only lead to our own destruction.
