This is excellent! Yes, modern humans are a lost, confused, empty mess. It would be absolutely fantastic if there were a way to teach young people about indigenous knowledge about the unseen spirit in all other creatures and matter on this planet along with universal consciousness. Maybe we wouldn't decline so dramatically!

"Let us look to the wisdom of our ancestors. They believed that intelligence is not restricted to humans but is possessed by all creatures – plants as well as animals — and by the Earth itself."

I believe, beyond doubt, it has been modern religions that have mesmerised humanity into believing that we are the only advanced intelligence on our earth. Sad.

I bought a book or two on this subject. But this is the best article on shamanism I have ever read. Totally makes sense now.

Alot more needs to happen before any real answers are revealed. The rest of life on and around this planet has fought long and hard to reverse the damage done here, and will continue to do so. The more that repell the ways of now, mainstream living, the better chance a difference can be made, where all may benefit from ancients, in all aspects.

Wonderfully written, thank you for providing some confirmation to those of us who feel that the world needs more shamanism in these perilous times. Do you have any information on reputable schools of shamanism? I know there are several schools, but finding authenticity in anything these days is very difficult. Thank you.

Beautiful post. 100% with you on all the insights contained here. My feeling is that more and more people are turn to spirit/nature/magic/ancestor practice/prayer - all in their own ways. It is coming alive again in the collective consciousness. Thankfully.

Brilliant post, brother - thanks! Succinctly portrays our root ills with powerful support!

"Self-importance, egocentricity, or wetiko by whatever moniker – manifests in us singularly and collectively at all levels: individual, family, community, congregation, city, region, race, nation, species, etc. More than any other single factor here in the 21st c., humanity’s hubris continues to slowly and steadily destroy us – from the inside out. We are consuming ourselves before our own deluded, denying eyes!"
