Canada To Drop More Vaccine Mandates - Letting The Unvaccinated Finally Travel
The Canadian federal government is set to announce that COVID-19 vaccine mandates for domestic travel on planes and trains, as well as outgoing international travel, will be dropped as of Wednesday. This means unvaccinated Canadians who had been virtually imprisoned here, will be allowed to leave or travel once again.
Oddly, unvaccinated Canadians will still have to quarantine for 14 days upon returning home even though they share the same risk as vaccinated citizens. In fact, the often travelling and triple vaccinated Justin Trudeau tested positive again this year for COVID-19 just yesterday.
Foreign travellers coming to Canada will still be required to be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination.
These mandates were the core of why the Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa occurred in early 2022. Millions of Canadians, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, were not in support of the federal governments strong handed and authoritarian mandates.
As countries around the world dropped their travel restrictions, Canada held theirs in place, becoming the only country in the world not allowing its own citizens to get on a plane and fly domestically or leave their own country.
In recent weeks, Trudeau and the federal government have come under harsh criticism for the mandates, with claims they are unscientific and provide no benefit. With long lines at Canadian airports slowing down travel immensely, Trudeau's government had been forced to do something.
Perhaps the straw that broke the camel's back might have been a story that came out featuring Liberal MPs here in Canada suggesting that the vast majority of the Liberal caucus wants to see the mandates dropped and has never gotten a good answer from Trudeau as to why the mandates remain in place.
