Thanks for this post. I feel the same, that spirituality is a lived, direct and non-conceptual experience. That lived experience is multi-dimensional, like many facets of a diamond, and our perspective changes if we are primarily experiencing a non-dual boundless dimension versus personal beingness. Our Soul- Consciousness has always been conditioned by both our childhood and by society/ culture, so AI is just the next iteration of this conditioning. To me, AI is similar or equal to the algorithms already being used on people. The closer we are to our non-conceptual spontaneous spiritual nature, the more we will respond to any AI from that nature. At the same time, we are materially affected by the way everyone else being conditioned by computer algorithms.
The real unknown risk factor is if our biology is tampered with making people's body and physiology more vulnerable to social conditioning. This may be in the works via nanotechnology interacting with the different wavelengths all around us. And even all of this is still true nature, consciousness, being, god, whatever you want to call it evolving. It seems to me there is nothing other than the unfolding vastness, and we temporarily have a human experience within that. To think there is one thing fighting against another is the personality's view of what's occurring. And yet one facet of the vastness is our personal consciousness (when we are unconditioned, our personal consciousness is a microcosm of this vastness). Our personal consciousness responds and functions in part within the world's circumstances.
I very much resonate with this article. At 80 yrs old, I know that I won't have to deal with this gradually creeping concept of loss of individual conscious awareness of connection to the cosmos, but I am very uncomfortable with what I am observing today. It is most frightening that the majority of people have no thoughts about this at all. So many young people think that anything involved with technology online is wonderful! I just try to keep hope that somehow the newest generation does have higher spiritual awareness that most people do - or????
